Church family,
Good afternoon. It was great to worship with you this morning!
I wanted to send you an important update that will impact our front office this week (Aug. 2-6). Last week a member of our support staff tested positive for COVID. This individual was at work Monday and Tuesday, was tested on Wednesday, and learned of the positive result on Friday (was not on campus after Tuesday). On the bright side, we were somewhat short-handed last week with several staff being out of town for various reasons, so interaction with others was very minimal.
Although we do not believe there was much chance for exposure, we want to make every effort to ensure a safe work environment for our employees and those who visit our office. Having discussed options with our staff, we feel it best to close the front office to public interactions this week. Any staff member who desires to work remotely will have the option to do so.
Our ministerial staff will still be in their offices and available to minister as needed. Similarly, all weekly scheduled activities, including midweek Bible studies, will meet. Necessary business items that our support staff provides, such as financial matters, will continue.
Again, this is a precautionary measure we’re taking that will only impact interactions with the public in our office. There is no reason to panic or conclude that a super-spreader event has occurred at church. We just want to be extra careful with office interactions this week, especially in light of the recent spike we’ve seen in COVID cases. It will also give our cleaning company the opportunity to make sure all areas are cleaned and sanitized.
Speaking of those spikes in cases, remember to do what we should all be doing anyway: wash your hands, don’t get out in public if you feel ill or have symptoms, avoid picking your nose, and look both ways before you cross the street.
You can always reach us via email (available at our contact page). You can also leave a message on the office phone, and we’ll make sure it gets to where it needs to be.
REMEMBER, this only affects the office. At this time all meetings and activities scheduled for the week will continue as planned. Please let me know if you have any questions, and take care of yourself!
